Salvador Gomez Gomez
Established in 1999 by Salvador Gómez Góchez during his tenure as President of the Salvadoran American National Association (SANA) in Los Angeles, our journey began with the vision of celebrating and honoring Salvadoran heritage.
He is mainly recognized for founding and creating “El Día del Salvadoreño” in the United States in 1999. This day also commemorates the Patron Saint of El Salvador, The Savior of the World.

Founder of Dia del Salvadoreño United Stated
The celebration has been held every August 6 since 2000 in Los Angeles, in 2001 in California County, and in 2002 in the state of California after the Assembly approved the initiative presented. However, it was not until July 2006 when Democratic Congresswoman Hilda Solís, of Nicaraguan origin, presented the motion to the United States House of Representatives, who unanimously approved resolution HR-721, declaring August 6 as “Salvadoran Day.” As a tribute to the contribution of the Salvadoran community in the economic, social, political, cultural, and other aspects of the nation.
Thanks to Salvador's important achievement, through multiple diplomatic, political, community and religious efforts, the Republic of El Salvador is the only country in the world with a special day designated for its migrant community in the United States. This celebration takes place in different cities in the United States, such as Los Angeles, Washington DC, San Francisco, New York, Boston and Dallas, Texas, among others.
For his professional career and committed community work in support of Salvadorans within and outside our borders, Salvador Gómez Góchez has received various recognitions, including being named "Chief Captain" of the Official Celebration of "El Día del Salvadoreño" in Los Angeles, CA, USA in 2012. It should also be noted that the Official Founder, Salvador Gómez Gochez, is the only person authorized to appoint and designate other people to celebrate El Día del Salvadoreño. In 2023, Salvador Gómez Gochez officially assigns Mrs. Evelyn Molina in the city of Dallas and the State of Texas to be in charge of celebrating El Día del Salvadoreño in a big way.
